Job interview questions are very important. They are designed to either test a candidate’s technical or analytical skills or to test his/her character, values and habits. They should get the candidate talking, expressing his thoughts and hopefully expressing his best possible attributes and qualities.
Where do you see yourself in 3-5 years?
The best way to answer the question is to focus on what you hope to achieve in the position. Describe how you plan to achieve these goals in the coming years. Explain how they will help your career and work performance and how they will benefit the employer. As long as your answer is realistic, you can be sure it will leave a good impression on the employer.
What are your future goals?
Your long-term goals should be in line with the company’s goals. The best way to answer this question is to focus on your career path and how you plan to achieve it. Make sure you focus on the current position you are applying for and show that you are willing to take on additional roles and responsibilities, for example, to expand your knowledge and exposure.
What are your salary expectations?
Employers want to know what your salary expectations are for the job you are applying for and whether they, as employers, are able to meet them based on your experience, education and skills.
Do you understand the job description?
The main point of the question is that the employer wants to know if the candidate is able to understand the job description, including any tasks and requirements associated with it. The employer typically asks the candidate to explain their ability to do the job in three simple points:
Are you capable of performing the tasks?
What are your goals and how will you achieve them?
How will you succeed in this position?
Remember that job descriptions do not cover all the details of a position. The employer wants to know that you are interested in the position, so ask about any requirements you may have overlooked. By asking questions, you are also showing consideration and interest in the position.
